On systems with ATI/AMD Radeon graphics cards and the Catalyst Control Center application installed, the game may crash if you have un-ticked the "Use application settings" box in the "SMOOTHVISION HD: Anti-aliasing" option.
This commonly occurs when an event is selected from the map screen (when the car select screen should be displayed).
Switching the "Use application settings" box back on for that option should resolve the issue.
We are currently investigating this issue and hope to have a solution in the near future which will allow you to play the game without changing control center settings.
