NFS hot pursuit can not configure rumblepad II

While connected to Origins and running Need for Speed Hot Pursuit from within it, I am trying to use my Logitech Rumblepad 2, the device is there in the settings\configure are but it will not let me configure and buttons. I click on a button to configure it and hit a button and it does nothing. Any ideas? I am running windows 7 64 bit, 4gb mem, i5 dual 2.50 ghz core processors
