NHL Legacy Edition Roster Save ISSUE

I saved a custom roster. Issue is that whenever I go into Customization and load the roster, then go to Play Now, the roster for the team is not the custom one that I loaded. What is the point of saving and loading if it's not actually gonna load? How do I fix this?
