I have noticed when I am online the amount of people on my friends list that leave there consoles turned on when they aren't using them.  The system can overheat and can affect the way the system performs cuz it doesn't get the chance to cool down.

Im not sure what kind of affect this has on the disc if its left inside days on days but its probably not very good.

Might be the reason for a lot peoples systems freezing also.
