Captaincy can't put on nhl 14

Whenever I try to put a captain on a player It first says do you wish to replace tthis from the other Captain even though I dont have one not on another set of lines either, I then press yes because I want the new Captain. I am then disconnected. Happens on all players and assistant captain works fine.
