Be a GM mode nhl 14, ps3, will not let me change period length always stays on 20 min

Whenever i edit the settings to change the period length either in the settings menu or right before the game in the pregame settings menu when i enter the game its always at 20 min periods...can anyone plz help?! Its so insanely frustrating
