Origin Cloud Storage bug - achievements from another Origin account unlocked on my own

Something interesting happened to me the other day - I had recently bought the Mass Effect 3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition and had logged in to play on a computer that had also previously been used by someone else with Mass Effect 3. When I loaded the game for the first time, I automatically unlocked around 40 achievements without playing the game. I also was able to access that person's saved games on my own Origin account.

The problem persisted even on a different computer with a fresh Mass Effect 3 install, as it appeared that those achievements and saved games were now linked to my own account.
