Mass effect 2 wont launch after power outage

Yesterday evening I was playing mass effect 2 when the power in my apartment suddenly turned off. All this mourning I have been trying to launch the game to no avail. I have tried launching it from orgin, launching it from the file folder, running it as a administrator and uninstalling and reinstalling it. I have no idea what else to do. Can anyone help me with this?

@Helisx Hey, it sounds like a save might have become corrupted. Try moving your saves from your local storage, and check if the game works. Then you can move them back bit by bit to find the corrupted save, which will need to be discarded.

Your saves are stored at My Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save

Thanks, that was the problem. When I deleted the corrupted save the game launched. I really appreciate the help. Thank You

i have the same issue power went out and now game wont launch, tried repairing it twice and deleting local saved files but still game wont load.

Did you disabled cloud save? If not the possible corrupt save-game will be reloaded into your ME2 save folder.

yeah i delete the local files and disabled cloud save..thanks for replying by the way.

Well, the repair didn't worked, so I would suggest do move the entire "Mass Effect 2" folder from your "Documents\Bioware" folder to the desktop (make sure cloud save is still disabled) and also to delete the "data" folder under ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2" and the "MassEffect2.exe" from the ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries\Win32" folder.

Then let Origin install the game again.

If that still don't hepls it is likely that there is a Windows problem.

You said you already preformed a clean reinstallation of the game?
