Mass effect 2 not starting

So i bought the game on steam forever ago and finally downloaded it and started playing. The game started in steam and i played quite a bit. Now today i tried to play and it started origin before trying to start the game. However the game didn't start, it doesn't do anything. I tried looking up some fixes but I'm running into issues, like I saw this solution: 

I found a solution to it (it worked for me).

In binaries directory:

Rename MassEffect2.exe as MassEffect2Launcher.exe

Rename ME2Game.exe as MassEffect2.exe

Now It Works fine and it can import Mass Effect 1 saves.

But I don't even have a binaries directory. I have one in documents but its empty, but i was also told that one is for when you have actually run the game.

The path to the "Binaries" folder is:

On Steam:

">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect 2\Binaries"

On Origin:

">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries"
