Mass Effect 2 has stopped working

Ok, so I bought the trilogy about a week a go and immediately downloaded both 1 and 2.  I played through 1 with minimal issues and 2, after playing for 15 hours, was going the same way until today.  In the middle of the game my computer froze and  I had to do a hard reset and when I tried to relaunch it tried to sync with the cloud and I replaced the save with the more recent one one my hard drive.  It finished syncing and a "Mass Effect 2 has stopped working." message box popped up.  I've tried restarting Origin my computer still nothing.  I would really appreciate the help as I am in love with this game and would like to finish it.
