Purchased Mass Effect Trilogy from origin bout 2 months ago. Downloaded Mass Effect 1 didn't work (double clicked it sat there for 5 seconds and the said syncing with cloud then shutdown). Now uninstalled that and installed Mass Effect 2. Now when I double click it to run the program it nevers load just brings up a window that says "Failed to initialize the physics system. Please ensure you have an updated verision of the PhysX System Software installed." Please I need serious assistance. Love the Mass Effect games and really want to get to playing them thanks in advance!

Not enough information.  There is a PhysX right on the game disk.  What platform?  What hardware?  What OS, iif on PC, etc etc You have to help yourself get to the point where a suggestion from someone here is even possible.

He said he bought it from Origin and then downloaded it. While Origin sells retail copies as well for all platforms, the digital download is only on PC.

Download and install this http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-driver.html It does not matter if you have AMD card.

But uninstall the current PhysX driver, if you have one installed - ME2 I think automatically install one. Restart Windows, then install the latest one.

I had this exact same problem when I was installing the Trilogy edition. There are two specific releases of PhysX that you will need in order to get all three games to work, and you'll need to install them sequentially to get everything working properly. First, make sure you uninstall whichever version of PhysX you currently have installed. Then, download and install version 09.09.0814:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.0814.html

Once you have that installed, download and install version 09.11.1107:

That got all three games working properly for me.

You might want to keep those two versions of PhysX handy somewhere in case you ever have to reinstall.

I just had this problem tonight. I don't know if you've got it solved already or not, sorry but I'm very new to these kind of posts, but all I did was uninstall Physx from control panel (I had to search for it to uninstall it). Then I opened up the install location in my Origin Games folder, opened up the _Installer folder, then the Physx folder, then the redist folder, installed Physx from there and poof! Everything's working great now. Hope this helps, or helps anyone else looking for a solution to an Origin digital purchase of ME2.
