"A required security module cannot be activated (8016)"

Hello!

After installing the Bring Down the Sky DLC I can't seem to launch ME anymore.

I get the error:  "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (8016)."

Couldn't find a fix by googling, any suggestions?

Steam, Origin or Disk version?

@XCaLv1 Can you try restarting with a Clean Boot to start?

@EA_DavidRestarting with a Clean Boot did nothing for me - still the same issue. The issue came to life when I installed the DLC for the game. I had to do a workaround to get the installer to work (making a fake .exe for the installer to find). 

Is this sufficent for system info?

And here the problem started.

What problem did you have with which DLC?

And the version of the game is still important as is your motherboard and the bios version.
