mouse issues

So, I recently re-installed ME1 and have never had an issue with it and my current play through is 80 hours deep, but recently I launched the game and the mouse clicks aren't registering. The cursor is visible but the the game doesn't react to the movements at all. any thoughts on how to fix this?
