July 2016
Hi guys.
I played Steam version.
I installed this game with all things from this manual - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619272716 =(all DLC, Rus sub, HD textures).
I played 1-st mission well, without any problems (more than i replayed it 1 more time) and no problems.
Next day i continue the game and it started crushing With "General protection fault, gmatrix2d and some files had been removed" error.
I tryed to use admin start, compatibility with Win XP SP2 or SP3, i installed PHYSX for GPU - all this thing doesn't work. 1 guy in Bioware forum wrote, that problem is "hit the Spacebar during dialogues to jump through" - so i stay away the game for 1 hour working, after that i changed location 2 times (from bank to "police office") and it crushes without any Spacebar or Dialogues.
I want play but i cant!
My PC - Intel Core 2 quad q9300 2.5MHZ, 8 gb ram, AMD Radeon R9 200 series, win 7 x64.

Did you installed this version of the PhysX software?
Either way, first deinstall the PhysX software from the Windows control panel and reboot.
Then install the PhysX software from the link above.
If that not helps, I am afraid that the HD Mod is the problem.
I can’t read Russian, but by the look at it the Mod should be “MEUITM”.
Did you applied the LAA patch to the MassEffect.exe?
Did you modified the “LODSize“ and the Dynamic Shadow in the “bioengine.ini”?
If you did, double-check for errors.
If it still not works, set your game back to vanilla status. (in steam > right click at ME1 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache.)
Then test if the problem still persists.
If it works, here you can find “MEUITM” for manual installation. (That's the version I use without problems.)
If not, please report back.

Hi.
Thanks for your answers.

Then install the PhysX software from the link above.
Not useful for me.
Did you applied the LAA patch to the MassEffect.exe?

If you did, double-check for errors.
I did it, but it not help. Even this steps -
I read somewhere else that I could apply the following fix:
"1) in /program files/Mass Effect/Binaries locate the OpenAL32.dll and wrap_oal.dll files
2) Rename OpenAL32.dll to OpenAL32.bak
3) Rename wrap_oal.dll to OpenAL32.dll
4) Launch as Admin by using the MassEffect.exe"
Didnt help.
If it still not works, set your game back to vanilla status. (in steam > right click at ME2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache.)
Then test if the problem still persists.
I did it, install DLC and RUS LANG and ITS WORK! no damn it ERROR.
So now i want to try "MEUITM" 1 more time, but i need help.
Dynamic Shadow Fix
Use the following Bioengine.ini tweaks:
Find the following entries:
DepthBias=0.030000 or(0.012 if you restored to pre-official 1.2 patch values)
MinShadowResolution=32
MaxShadowResolution=512
ShadowFilterQualityBias=0
This entries founded in "bioengine.ini" each for 2 times! Should i change them all = so it will be 8 changes or only 4 (if 4 which one?).

You need to change this lines:
TEXTUREGROUP_Character_Diff=(MinLODSize=32,MaxLODSize=512,LODBias=0)
TEXTUREGROUP_Character_Norm=(MinLODSize=32,MaxLODSize=512,LODBias=0)
TEXTUREGROUP_Character_Spec=(MinLODSize=32,MaxLODSize=256,LODBias=0)
to this
TEXTUREGROUP_Character_Diff=(MinLODSize=512,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0)
TEXTUREGROUP_Character_Norm=(MinLODSize=512,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0)
TEXTUREGROUP_Character_Spec=(MinLODSize=256,MaxLODSize=4096,LODBias=0)
but you don't need to apply the "Dynamic Shadow Fix" because imho the new shadow shaders who come with the mod are doing a decent job without it.
If you still want to change the entries you have to change both entries.

So, i solved this problem.
I dll MEUITM and LAA from your links -> returned my game to vanilla status -> added DLC and RUS LANG -> applyed LAA on ME1.exe -> changed only textures lines in Config -> Installed MEUITM in "special folder" then copyed files in game folder and this actions solved my problem.
Thank's for Help!
