Mass effect won't load

Hi~ I just installed Mass effect for my PC, but it won't load. I contacted EA, but their solution didn't work. I am frustrated, because I really want to play. Can someone help me please?

IF YOU USE WINDOWS 7 IT WON'T LOAD. YOU NEED TO GO TO PROPERTIES       COMPATABILITY         SELECT WINDOWS XP      AND THEN APPLY .IT SHOULD LOAD THEN
