Mass effect 1 crashing with General Protection Fault

I purchased the six disk set for PC mass effect trilogy and finished installing and updating the game all my drivers are up to date but when I go to load the games it says that General protection fault shows up up stating that an address for the masseffect.exe is missing. There are 2 addresses that are always slightly different. Can anyone tell me how to fix this.
