What exactly didn't work?
You reinstalled the game but it still won't launch?
Please start the Mass Effect Config tool under ""D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect\binaries" and look for the game version.

OK, ME2 and 3 do launch normal?
You still have the Windows System Assessment Tool running, that means you have either Win 7 or 8. Which one is it?
Which graphic card are you using?
Which PhysX software are you using?
How big is your D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect" folder (GB)
Lets try a few fixes that worked for older ME1 versions.
Check if there is a third "Mass Effect" folder outside of your "Origin Games" and "My Documents" Folder.
Go to your "D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect/Binaries" rename "OpenAL32.dll" and "wrap_oal.dll" to "OpenAL32.bak" and "wrap_oal.Bak"
afterwards Launch the game from the "MassEffect.exe" as Administrator.
If that not works Install this Patch it's shouldn't matter because your game version is already 1.02, but lets make sure. > Test

In this case the game files were already present on the disk, so applying the patch should be possible.
If you have a similar problem, starting a new thread with system information and exact error messages (or the lack of it) would be the way to go.
