Mass Effect PS3 import data to Mass Effect 2

I am having an issue importing my game from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 on the PS3. When I choose the option to import the data, it can't find the data. I know the data is there, but for some strange reason it can't find the save data to import to Mass Effect 2. Is this a problem with other PS3 versions, or am I a lone case? What can I do to fix the problem?

Some guys here were having problems with import save from ME1 (US) to ME2 (UK)...

Bought disc of ME2 in 2011 in California. Downloaded ME1 from PSN in same area.

Yes, both are from US. Still not working. Any ideas or solution? Any news on if this will be addressed in a update or patch or anything?

Have you installed the 1.04 patch? If not trying having your PS3 online with ME 2 inside and install it, that seems to work for at least some of the cases.
