Mass Effect 1 crashes when I hit Play or Configuration

Hi all, I just purchase the Mass Effect 1 and redeemed the code; it's running on a Windows 7 64 bits computer with Service Pack 1 installed. The thing is that whenever I try to run the game, as Admin, or with Windows XP compatibility it crashes.
I've attached a screen capture of the error, it happens when I hit play, or Configuration.
If you guys could help I would really appriciated. I also cant find the 1.2 patch because the URL where it is supposted to be it's not working, ever.

You're right, the Bioware link is down. I uploaded the patch here. (MassEffect_EFIGS_1.02.exe)

Origin or Steam should however update the game regardless.

For the crashes, what happens if you run the Game without setting the compatibility or admin mode?

I never had to use either of them on Windows 7 and even on Windows 10 the game works without them.

Hi @holger1405, thank you very much for answering. Yesterday I downloaded a 1.2 patch from a very questionable website, I hope I dont have ebola on my pc now; but it worked. Anyway I will keep yours on a folder just in case.
