Mass Effect 1 WILL NOT LAUNCH!

HI

I bought mass effect 1 from Origin three days ago and since have been having problems with it. When ever I click launch nothing happens, it just says 'launching' then nothing.

I have tried

>running Origin as administrator 

>running Mass Effect 1 as administrator

>Uninstalling and re-installing 3 times

>running ME1 through its .exe in its file (both normally and as admin)

>running Origin through the .exe in its file (both normally and as admin)

>Running it through troubleshoot compatibility, which results in a message reading ' missing required file "ssleay32.dll". Which I have then downloaded and placed in the file and tried again. With no result

I have scoured countless threads for the past 3 days and I have found nothing that works for me.

ANY help is appreciated

Ive just tried that there, it hasnt worked. I get the message saying mass effect not found even when origin is running as admin

Can you try to start the game directly from the MassEffectLauncher.exe?

The file should be located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect

I had the same problem and this process fixed the problem as well. One question, how do I get the Patch now that the game works? I have the problem where the patch download states it cannot find the install files.

I have tried this as well, but running Origin in Admin doesn't seem to work.  The update still doesn't patch.  Get same message that Mass Effect cannot be found.  There is no Laucher.exe file in the Origin Games/Mass Effect folder either.
