Mass Effect 1 Import to Mass Effect 2 "Disc Unreadable" Xbox 360

I've played Mass Effect 2 a great number of times and recently got Mass Effect 1, but i figure playing the first one would enhance the game on the second one. So i played it and completed it, so now i can finally import it to mass effect 1. It imports and im playing through the intro scene, the normandy. I get joker to the into the escape pod and i fly into space. It says the title "Mass Effect 2" then fades to black. It plays the reconstruction cutscene and i reckon im good from there. After the cutscene, it all just ends and it says the disc is unreadable. This is odd as it has never happened to me on this game, and I have played it, a lot. Don't ask me how long. So i take it out, wipe it with a soft cloth and put it back in. And it still doesnt work. So i reckon its the save, i moved it to another memory unit, still didnt work. I played Mass Effect 1 all over again, still didnt work. And it begins to **bleep** me off. Please BioWare help me out here. i love your games and i love your work.

Im using an Xbox 360 and I play offline only as I can't be bothered to connect to Xbox Live, although i connect to xbox live only to download cerberus network via Mass Effect 2.
