Every time I get in the elevator on Feros it crashes with this error message

I'm running the version downloaded from Origin so it has the latest patches and DLC already installed.

If I click OK I then get a Mass Effect has stopped working error box with the following information in it....

Hero

If Origin allows it, repair the installation. If that option doesn't exist, go into the config utility and find the repair tab. Then delete the local shader cache.

If all of this fails, reinstall the game.

It may also help if you posted your system specs, since general protection fault is often tied so unsupported hardware.
