It says it's saving, but it's not

I just started the series again for the Nth time, and there seems to be a problem with saving the game. I saved before going to Eden Prime. I quicksaved (F6) succesfully several times during the mission. I also saved the game with a second file after the mission. The problem is the only save that's still there is the first one before Eden Prime. What happened to all my saves? I searched my PC for "MassEffectSave" and it only found the one.

I had the same issue when attempting to quicksave in ME2.

Go to your save folder and make sure it isn't set to 'read only'.
