@AndyDocHolliday Hey, can you try running the DXSETUP found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect\__Installer\directx\redist?

This should try to install some of the core files again, if there was an issue during the initial install, then this should help to fix this issue.

No dice! Funnily enough when installing DirectX I think I see that it's installing/copying the d3dx9_31.dll file, but it still won't launch and gives me the same error! I have also tried chkdsk before but nothing. Worth mentioning I've had the trilogy installed and working before, but now for some reason since then it's stuffing up.

@AndyDocHolliday Thanks for the info. I wonder were there any significant PC changes, such as an OS upgrade, since it did work?

Can you try restarting your system with a Clean Boot and run the DXSETUP as an administrator next?

Hopefully it was just a minor permissions issue or conflict.
