How do I import ME1 that was already on my PC before I installed Origin?

I had already installed ME1 before I installed Origin but I cannot get Origin to recognize it or the saved characters.

I moved your post to the the ME1 thread.

Redeem the cd key in Origin. (Origin, menu top left corner > Origin > Redeem product code.)

If the code is not accepted you need to contact EA directly. If you are not from the US change the country in the top right corner.

I have the same issue but I tried using the CD key in Origin after getting it on Steam. I'm doing this just to keep all 3 games together. I have done this with ME2 so I know it's possible to carry over.
