Trying to play simcity

Im trying to play simcity and when game is about to start it says unable to allocate graphics resource(1008) what does this mean and what can i do to fix it?

Hello,

I bought the simcity4 and i was so excited but Im getting this error

Failed to allocate a graphic resources. simcity will now exit 1008

I use HP with 4GB RAM win 7 32 bit and a built in  ATI Mobility Radeon™ X1300 I have tried to look for a souluion ob the internet and on EA website but i could not find a working solution

Please assisit ASAP.

you don't have a supported video card.

Laptops, or any other unitary-construction computing devices, including many all-in-one products, have the CPU and GPU permanently affixed, and locked away from access.  The X1300, as per the PM sent when the question was new, is seven years old now, was not gaming capable when new, and there is no laptop that old that would be worthwhile upgrading, even were it possible to do so.

I have a sager laptop with an i7 4700mq nvidia gtx 765m. after days of trying to get both origin and simcity to install and update I finally thought I was going to be able to play... nope. I keep getting "Failed to allocate a graphics resource. SimCity will now exit. (1008)"

That is wrong - my graphics card was working fine for weeks.

Then NVIDIA forced an update, I applied it, and now I get that error and there is nothing I can do about it.

The nvidia notification was optional, it wasn't forced.

Just download the previos driver and uninstall the current one and say a couple of prayers and hope it starts playing again.

Did you try to use the simcity recovery program first?  sometimes this fixes things for you.

I have a 2008 gateway laptop, i dont know how to find the specs of this thing but basically what is being said is that ordianry laptops will completely not work with simcity?? is there anything i could do to the laptop so it can work? i just bought this game today!

That is very old, most likely won't run the game at all.

Laptops aren't made to be upgradeable.  It sounds like you may have to invest in a new system.
