When I go to open the app that I downloaded of Origin to play the free trial it won't let me play it and says its for windows only. I want to buy the Sims 4, but if it says that then I don't want to spend money on something that I can't play. Why is it saying its only on windows and not Mac when you can download it for Mac?

Hey @sakers02,
I believe the free trials are designed only for Windows. However, the full version of the game works on Mac provided you meet the minimum requirements for it. This could be due to the way demos and trials are designed as they contain portions of the game.
Make sure your system meets these requirements before you purchase the full game. If it does, you should not have much issues in playing it.

I wish you all the best.

@sakers02 You can also try the purchase while bearing in mind the Great Game Guarantee.
If your Mac appears to be up to the task you can make the purchase. If the game doesn't play or performance isn't what you want, you can put through a refund using the steps on this page: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/what-s-the-great-games-guarantee/
Thanks.
