Hi all,
Do you think your gaming setup is so awesome that you want to share it with other players? Or perhaps you would like to get some ideas from the amazing gaming setups that other players have?
This is the thread to do so! Feel free to post and share any pictures of your current gaming setup. You're also free to write about it.
Enjoy,

@Straatford87 so i've got my email and SMS, both telling me that i can finally pick up my ordered parts. Due to lack of time (my work program ends at 18.00, the shop is open until 17.30) i asked a friend to pick them up (he already did that) and i can go to him tomorrow to pick the parts (i've mentioned a shop pick up, as i can't be found at home until 20.00 and no courier works so late or delivers before 09.00, when i am already on my way to work - long commute...). So, tomorrow is the assembly and probably on Thursday the installation of various software (Windows included). Which means that i will be just in time for the week-end fun
Those are the parts

I had a really good experience with the Gigabyte products (had bad luck with Asus, with only one exception), so i preferred to stay with Gigabyte. I like Corsair when it comes to RAM, Samsung 850 Pro Evo has a really good rep and good reviews, Noctua does some mean CPU coolers, the gamble is with the PSU and the SATA HDD (the EVGA Performance series have a good rep, but this is my first PSU from them and is a Sirfa build, while i had mixed experience with Seagate HDD - some went down right after the warranty expired, others i still use them even now). The Aerocool case, suits my needs, though it seems that is available only in EU and Asia, but the reviews from a few german sites that tested agreed that is solid and for the asking price quite okay.
Overall, i'd say that is a decent build, just right to keep me going for a few years, while changing only the GPU.

(Made a dedicated thread for PC tech talk so to not disturb the Star Wars thread)
Ohhh... excited times ahead! I bet you can't wait to put it all together.
I do want to say that you vastly undersold the power of your system. When you talked about it previously I somewhat got the impression that you went for a semi-budget set up to suit your gaming needs.
However, this setup is an absolute powerhouse - should be able to run all new games flawlessly..

@Straatford87 yeah, i am a bit of a salesman nightmare. I know exactly what i want, what i need and i document myself before buying something. And i can't be deterred from my goals. Stubborn as a mule and the mule might lose that competition.
Well, i usually aim for fewer upgrades down the road. I am doing my own builds since i was 17 (again, helpful friends that took time and patience to teach me), so i am kind of used to building a PC from scratch. Part of me wishes that i would have the budget for an enthusiast build, but with the speed that things are coming out that would be a waste of money. Coffee Lake is around the corner, Cannon Lake will come out next year, Nvidia seems that they will announce their new graphic cards based on the Volta chipset soon and so on. Sometimes, technology moves too fast
I had a 2k euro budget and i'd say that i've managed to be under the budget (was afraid that i won't, but some parts actually went down in price while i was waiting and i've caught a few sales, and i've managed to stay in the budget and save 150 euro (so here is my gaming budget for the next couple of months). Oh well, part of that budget will be probably spent in ME:A. It's not much of gaming budget, but if spent carefully, it will keep me until i recover from this "war effort

Haha, I'm the same way.
Your comment reminds me of myself when I was younger and went to a shop selling single Magic the Gathering cards. I spend about four hours in the store just browsing though all the cards because I knew which ones I was looking for. However, this also means that the guy in the store had to be there the entire time just because he had to hand me the folders containing the cards. Looking back, I can only imagine how bored he must have been standing there watch me browse cards for four hours.. :-)
Like you, I also build my own systems. Though I must admit that because I only do it every so many years, it still makes me somewhat nervous every time I build a new system again.
When you're talking about the tech things that are on the horizon, I'm really looking forward to the next generation of graphics cards. I honestly hope that they will be able to handle a smooth 4K at 60FPS - that would be the only reason for me to upgrade at the moment.
Considering your budget, I think you an awesome job with that system. I truly hope that you will enjoy gaming on it going forward... :eahigh_file:

I have a decent gaming PC with bare-bones peripherals.
GPU: Radeon R9 390 8GB
CPU: Intel Core-i5 4690K
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Storage: 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD
I have a plug and play wired keyboard, wired mouse with two thumb buttons, a 1920x1080 60hz monitor, and Logitech X-530 5.1 surround speakers.
I also have a Wii U for my Marios.

@Fred_vdp hey, that's a decent setup and isn't as bad as you make it
You could probably switch to a i7 4770k and add/change the RAM and you could probably use it for a few more years. So, no problem with the build.

@ivrognard It's certainly not bad, but I use the word 'decent' because there will always be much better setups on a gaming related forum.
I think I can get a few more years out if it as it is. The GPU is the bottleneck in most games, but that's easy to swap out. I'll probably replace that in two years and then carry it over to the next PC once the CPU and motherboard have become too dated.

Thanks my friend !
I am sharing on the bases others will certainly share as well though . No competition here ether just fellow gamers sharing their gaming rooms where they game hard and escape reality for a bit each time like the rest of us
Here is my personal setup. A lot of time went into matching the sound and video gear and add to that a lot of hours calibrating both too. I can list the specs if you guys want but for now i will just share some pics. Look forward to seeing more from others .
