Worse than that. There are so many open ends in the main game that should be filled with some DLC's. If the game flunked, it was because it was rushed. By the time facial animation was fixed, the damage was done. It is still a great game and the fans deserved better. It is a stupid decision EA has made. Invest some of the profit, and there was plenty of it, and make the franchise something that will attract both old and new players again. It is dam better than Anthem will ever be. The Mass Effect Universe didn't deserve a poor decision like this. Stupid suits with short vision cannot foresee what greatness would become from a little investment? Fire these hacks and hire players instead. CDPR has players running the company and look how well they did with all their Witcher games! Frak people who hates video games and work in the game industry. They sh*t on us and we still pay them!

From what I hear single player DLC isn't very profitable anymore in the game industry, which is probably why EA is investing in a loot shooter with microtransactions and not releasing Mass Effect DLC. I would have liked DLC, but it's a sensible decision from a business perspective.
To be fair, though, Mass Effect Andromeda was made by a relatively young team of Mass Effect fans who were given a chance to make a full game after being a support studio for several years. Mismanagement and unattainable goals were allegedly the cause of the game's lack of polish. EA gave BioWare Montreal five years to work on the game (though reportedly they started from scratch 18 months before release when they discovered their ambitious goals couldn't be met) and EA even offered a five months delay if they felt they needed it. I think BioWare takes the full blame on this one.

A sensible decision from a business perspective, would be keep the microtransactions and have a DLC. I would be willing to spend 40. or 50. US to see where the story go's from here.
