Can't my sim be engaged with other user's sim?

I'm playing the sims mobile.
My sim met other user's sim at the party. I tried to betroth my sim and other user's. That sim became soulmate(lv10). But I can't find any button indicating engagement. So I wonder my sim can be engage with other user's sim

Did you guys move in together? If not, that's what you should do first, after that you can ask your friend to marry you.
