cant connect to EA servers

hello EA I just got sims4 for my surface pro 3 and I cant connect to the EA servers for some reason. I know the game can be played on the surface pro 3 because I have seen it done before anything will help. Thank you for your time.

@deathdealer675 It sounds like Origin might be blocked by your security software, can you ensure that it and the game are set as exceptions?

Origin doesn't have a touch interface yet, but I don't think this is related to the issue.
