It seems strange to me that I would need to install PhysX, since I am using an AMD graphics card, but installing PhysX did in fact resolve the issue for me.

July 2018 and this problem still exists? I did a factory restore, updated all files, then immediately download origin in order to play Dragon Age: Origins, II and Inquisition. I donwloaded all three and all of the DLC/expansion stuff that was there. Now I'm getting a "missing character dll" error. How is it possible to get errors like this with a fresh install? I just don't understand why the files I need aren't already there.
