Ok, I ran them and the 2012 & 2013 are fine. The 2008sp1 seems to not want to install properly. How do I find out which file will work? I downloaded the x64 for 2010 and the x86 for 2008 and 2010sp1 but none of them seem to want to run properly.

Try to install them from Microsoft's site:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582 - 2008 SP1 x86
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2092 - 2008 SP1 x64
IIRC 2010 is not needed for DA3 so skip that one.
The error you're getting is also 1603 or another?

None of those 2008s work for me. It still implies it didn't install correctly. Someone mentioned that exchanging one of the 2012 or 2013 files and renaming it would work?
I went ahead & deleted the DAI file and am recopying everything & will write down the exact error code. But I know it said "vc++ redistribution was not installed properly" or something along those lines, and then it wouldn't continue with the installation.

EDIT: The error code I had was actually 2114715647. "The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue"
I got it to work though. Recopied the game, then downloaded the 2012 and 2013 x64 from microsoft, put the 2013 x64 in the 2008sp1, reinstalled, and it worked

But that still didn't fix the problem of inability to install vcredist 2008 SP1!
For those who can't install it and want to have it installed without this "workaround" I suggest two things:
1. Make sure there is a folder on C: drive called Temp (c:\Temp), if it's not there, create it!
2. Try to install it by rightclick on it and then "Run as Administrator"
3. Make sure your OS (windows) is fully updated. Definetly check if updates were installed successfully or are marked as "failed".
4. If all of the above failed, do this:

Hey there.
I'm having the same issue with the "1603" error. I followed your instructions with the vc files and found that two of the three did not install correctly.
vc2008sp1
vc2013
My question is how exactly do you know which vcredist is compatible with your computer? I have no idea.

All vcredists are compatible with your computer, but some aren't compatible with you operating system.
vcredist x86 can be (and should be) installed on all windows versions.
vcredist x64 can't be installed on 32bit windows.

BY THE GODS IT WORKED! haha thanks so much. I had to replace the old file and rename it to trick origin as per the previous instrustions.

I had to go online, search out all the differing versions of the file, and attempt to install them all -- one at a time. I started with the highest bit number: x86, and worked down.
