Crashing :(

I am starting up Inquisition but then it gives me a black screen and crashes. Has anyone else had this and how do I fix it?

@she_devil1973;  Based on the amazing amount of detail you provided, I'm gonna' go out on a limb and say it's "AVG" or "Avast" that causes the problem.

Presuming that's the issue, set the appropriate exceptions in your a/v software to allow the game to run.  (See the instructions in the pinned topic at the top of this forum.)  Or better yet, get rid of whichever "free, and worth exactly-what-you-paid-for-it" one you're using and get a real a/v/ product.

I was having this problem and this fixed it. it was Avast being a poop of a program. Never had a problem with it before other than it being annoying and begging for money. Thanks, mate.
