no codex entries for letters and notes

If I read a letter in Dragon Age II, I don't see any codex entry for it showing up.

According to http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Codex_%28Dragon_Age_II%29 there should be codexes for Creatures,  Items, Places, Lore, Characters,  Letters and Notes, Notes &  Art of War

My codex only consists of  the categories Creatures,  Items, Places, Lore, Characters &  Art of War

The categories of  Letters and Notes & Notes don't appear in my game.

How can I fix that?

I'm running the game from the Origin client on Windows 7 64-bit.

system: CPU Core i3 2120, GPU AMD Radeon HD6670, 4 GB RAM

I own the game on disc as well as having it in the Origin client, so I de-installed the Origin game, installed the disc-game, imported my character, but the bug remains:

no journal entries for letters or notes.

And thus it's very hard getting into the storyline.

Anyone know what I might do to solve this?
