My Dragon Age 2 game will only select things from a distance like, if I put my mouse over something it doesn't select it. But if I just hover like an inch or two away from it it will highlight what I was trying to get.

If you are running on a resolution higher than your monitor's native resolution, try to lower it. The first two Dragon Age games don't like AMD's virtual super resolution or other third party programs that do the same thing.
