dragon age 2 will not log in from main menu

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 and reinstalled dragon age 2 but now the game refuses to recognize my internet connection when I try to log in on the main menu. I have activated the game,patched it to 1.04 and added all firewall exceptions. This is really frustrating me because my internet works fine in every other game. I have a physical copy and never needed Origin or Steam to run it or connect through the menu. It worked fine on XP but it seems that it just does not like Windows 10. Any help would be appreciated.
