Dragon Age II won't install (PS3)

★★★ Newbie

I've been trying to install the game for over two hours now.

I keep getting a screen that says "Game Data is required to play Dragon Age II and will be installed now. Please do not turn off your system while data is being written." This keeps happening even after I've already done that.

I did manage to get to the start screen once, but it was missing all the text and froze when I tried to create a new game. After resetting my PS3, it gave me that same message as above again.

Does anyone have any solutions?

This is a TERRIBLE answer.  Come on, EA, get your affairs in order.  This is a VERY common problem with the disc version of this title.  Either FIX IT with a patch or an update- or else give those of us that PAID YOU for this game a voucher for a copy of the downloadable version of the game from PSN- since you don't feel that your PS3 customer base is important enough to validate supporting the software that you sold to people (and are still selling and profiting from, to this day)....

I have this game on my PS3 and I occasionally get minor freezing of the game but in general it works OK.

I have no idea why a game will not load unless the disc itself is at fault
