The author of the Opening Post stopped well short of enough information for anyone to work with; he started, just didn't say enough. The next to last was much better, but still not covering everything.
Our new arrival with a bald "Me, Too" wasted time saying nothing much at all so far. "No data in = no data out", sorry.

(And this is only for the raw hardware & driver variations. Potential software conflicts are far more likely to be game play problems, and developers cannot test for all possible program loads.)

I've been in contact with Origin support for a while now, they're still trying to figure out a solution, which included dxdiag. Also if you look at my post I also wrote some basic system information and I wasn't sure what else to include at this point. I've tried running the game in administrative mode and through msconfig shutting everything but basic microsoft programs/services off and still it won't run.
Here's a download link for my dxdiag in .txt if you think that might prove useful to the problem; dxdiag
(if the link insertion tool doesn't work here's also a link; http://www.mediafire.com/view/?bp4obqkppxvef5m )

The game is newer than your graphics driver is. You should be using one from this year, not last year.

I don't believe I can update my graphics card drivers any further, I'm running Catalyst Control Centre 12.6 the newest available according to both the AMD website and the program's own update function.

The DxDiag claimed otherwise, offering a much older date than this past June. The newest is Catalyst 12-10, I believe (possibly still as a Beta), but the best from 2012 is supposed to still be 12-4.

The dxdiag I first uploaded was the one I also sent EA support a few weeks ago. I tried making a new one today and it at least showed a different driver version than the first one.

I've not given up on this game, I really want to play it.
I've recently installed windows 8 and the absolutely same issue persist. To better illustrate and satisfy informations requirements here is a video of the issue and dxdiag a few hours before running from a fresh Dragon Age II latest patch.

I have had DA2 (and DA: O ) running on Win8/64-bit without any issues for almost a year now (dating back to the "Consumer Preview" version.) So don't think the O/S itself is (directly) your issue.

Oh yeah it definitely isn't it's the same issue that was in windows 7 just now also in windows 8 after a reformat.
