already tried these, you got me to try them on the 3/13

and I've already tried reinstalling the game back to the default location on the C  drive

but I've ran them again and it's till not working and I also reinstalled it again on the C drive and again still not working

Apologies for repeating those steps.

 

Can I ask you to remove all peripherals other than your mouse and KB and retest.

 

Ideally, you would also try testing with a spare, basic mouse and KB.

that was one of the first things that I tried as mentioned in my initial post

the game registers my kb/m inputs just fine (unlike the users issue you linked to where i wasn't registering their KB inputs) its that when i press any button the game tries to check for saves for about 1second and then CTDs with the error that the game has stopped responding

and i dont have a spare kb/m to test as i dont use kb/m to play most games

In the past, I have seen BEX (buffer overflow exception) error be due to a RAM issue. It may be worthwhile running a RAM checking utility or removing all but one RAM stick and testing if you are up to it. I am running out of troubleshooting here really.

ok I ran windows memory diagnostics and that detected no issues with my RAM

I then unplugged the RAM and tried each stick in each slot i.e stick 1 in slot one, test game, shut down, then stick 1 slot 2, test game, shut down, stick1 slot 3, test, shut down, stick 1 slot 4, test, shut down

then I did the same thing for stick 2 and on all 8 attempts it still failed to launch

 

I thought of another thing to try, I removed my SLI bridge and  launched the game just to test and that didn't work, then I tried to unplug the second GPU entirely from my system and again it still wouldn't launch with just the one GPU

Further research brings me back to the 360 controller being the issue. I understand you want to use that, but even just for testing purposes can you disable it and retest.

disabled and uninstalled the "HID-compliant game controller" as mentioned in the post and I also disconnected the 360 controller to make sure and still got the same issue sadly

many thanks for trying Barry, I'll contact one if the tech specialists at a later date, got Mass Effect Andromeda to keep me occupied now.
