Same problem.
Origin is simply bad. It's a bloatware that punishes us for playing games legally. Pirates don't need to bother with thit sh*t.

Dear god, please tell me it isn't really something this stupid causing the problem..... guess I'll go try windowed mode. hehe

Alright, windowed mode + vsync on worked. I really dislike EA. /sigh

Ok, using newest BETA Origin fixes this problem...
What kind of company is that... it's official release version of Origin has this bug... BETA doesn't...

Well, the Beta is a build of the NEXT version of Origin, so it does make a great deal of sense. If it were the Beta version of the current build then we would have a problem.

Origin Beta doesn't work for me the only thing that works is turning vsynch on.
Vsynch is limited to 30 fps ? srsly ? would like to play coop.
found a workaround: starting with vsynch then turn it off and it still works...

good for you guys but using the beta and vsinc+windowed mode didn't do **bleep** for me D:

try this:update to beta version, then switch from full screen to windowed, and lower the resolution(like from 1920*1080 to 1680*1400).Wait a few seconds , origin should pop up, and then you can switch to your best settings and origin still there~

I have/had (not yet sure) the same problem.
It even worked after these setting but turned back.
You can join a coop game(the only real thing you need origin in game for) when you have your game closed and your friend(who hopefully has origin in game invites you).

To fix this issue all you have to do is uninstall Origin via the Control Panel on your PC. Start>control panel> add/uninstall program. Uninstall origin then go to https://www.origin.com/en-us/download and redownload it.
Once downloaded run the OriginThinSetup as an administrator by right clicking on the icon in your Download folder and selecting "run as administrator"
When you install the program it should ask if you want to use local data or cloud saves for your games (select whichever is appropriate for you).
Once Origin has been reinstalled your Origin In-Game overlay should work perfectly.
Hope this helps.
TLDR version. Uninstall Origin and reinstall as an adminstrator. Boom. Sucess.
