Dead Space 3 graphical glitch (video inside)

★ Novice

I noticed today when playing Dead Space 3 that I would get a crazy graphical glitch when listening to 2 separate audio recordings.

My first thought was "oh **bleep** there goes my video card", but what was strange is that the Exit Menu and the subtitles remained normal, leading me to believe it was was just a graphical bug in the game.

Specs: i7 4790k (no overclock), GTX 670 (overclocked)

I have no issues in any other game, program, etc.

GPU usage was at 99% and temps were at 40 degrees at the time.

Glitch occurs at 1:25

I advise updating your video drivers or reinstalling if you are using the most recent drivers.

When you run the installer, choose Custom Install and then Clean Install. This will fully remove any remnants of previous drivers which could be causing this isue.

If these steps don't fix this then do post a link to your hastebin hosted Dxdiag file so we can take a look.

I actually already tried the clean install method of the latest driver. I typically do this first when getting issues like this.

I will post the DXDIAG file very soon.

Thanks!

  1. Please perform a clean install of your current video drivers. Choose custom install and then Clean Install, this will remove any previous installations and can prevent further problems.
  2. Successfully run Windows update and install all important updates.
  3. Run System File Checker to ensure the integrity of Windows system files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
  4. Perform a clean boot before starting the game: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
