Dead Space 3 don't start with error

★★★ Newbie

Hello Support.

Hours ago I buy and install Dead Space 3 on my PC.

After the Download and the Installation successful, I tried to start the Game.

But the only one I can see, is an Error:

Invalid license Reason= Missing DLL XINPUT1_3.dll Error: 0x000000c1

Can you please help me to fix this issue?

Thanks, Matthias

Have you recently installed or uninstalled the Chrome internet browser?

Upgraded to 64 bit OS, now Dead Space 3 says license error

★★★ Newbie

Hi,

I upgraded my system from Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.  I didn't reinstall everything, I used a program called Power Mover that did a pretty good job.  It did warn me that DS 3 might not work, but then again it also said the Origin program wouldn't work (and it does).

Anyway, when I try to run it, I get this error:

Invalid license.  Reason code = Missing DLL XINPUT1_3.dll  Error 0x0000007e.  Now, I now a 7e error is caused by changed hardware, and since it's running at 64 bits now, that makes sense.  So the question:

Do I have to re-install?  If so, can I keep my progress?  I'm about halfway through the game, and I REALLY don't want to start all over!

Thanks!

Please check the troubleshooting steps here regarding that error code: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330182

Those steps are for Windows XP but are still valid.
