I have a problem with playing Dead Space 1 on Origin. When I load the game the logo cinematic play as normal and the dead space logo appears. When I "press any key" to enter the main menu the game starts transitioning to the main menu but then it exits the game and a deadspace.exe stops responding error message appears.
I've tried re downloading the game, running in admin, and compatibility mode but nothing helped.

Hi,
I manged to get it working. I changed the proxy settings and I deleted the files in C:\Users\<User>\Documents\Electronic Arts\Dead Space. Once i reloaded the game the it ran fine and no saves were lost (due to the cloud).
Thanks for your help.

Assuming your system meets the system requirements, right click and run the following setups as an administrator:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dead Space\__Installer\directx\redist\DXSETUP.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dead Space\__Installer\vc\vc2005sp1\redist\vcredist_x86.exe
If this does not help then please post your Dxdiag report and we can take a look:

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I tried all those solutions and still have the same problem.
I was wondering if this problem has something to do with Nvidia's new drivers and the Windows Anniversary Update?
People have been reporting some older games such as Fallout New Vegas similarly crashing when starting a new game or loading one.

A couple more troubleshooting steps to try:
First, do a clean boot before starting the game: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Then, in clean boot mode, try running the game in Windows Compatibility mode:

Hi,
I tried a clean boot and compatibility mode with no success.

Okay, I think your machine may be defaulting to your Intel video processing on your CPU rather than your GTX 970.
Try this procedure and let us know if you are able to play, thanks.

Added the game to Nvidia control panel, but it did not solve the problem.

Hey, another player had a similar issue very recently and updating their video drivers helped, can you try that please?

If that does not help then can you post the info you can find via the following please?
In the graph click on the most recent X symbol that corresponds to the DS crash, in the details below right click the event and 'view technical details', copy and paste that info here please.
