Use SweetFX, get banned?

★ Novice

I don't think it changes game files. Probably it just 'add' filter like changing bright.

So It is okay?

★★★★ Guide

I don't know what SweetFX is or it inbed codes to the game files but you may want to read TOS here http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/ . I also posted a copy of the post by ragnarok013.

OP here is everything that you need to know about Battlelog bans from EA_AgentX:

I’ve been banned from posting on Battlelog – What do I do?
Take a break, go for a walk, play some Battlefield – it’s not a big deal. We’re not mad at you, you’re not in trouble – you just need a break. Do not post or complain about your ban. This will result in an extension of your ban. Temporary bans are not subject to appeal. If you feel that you have been long-termed banned incorrectly please contact us at help.ea.com.

Being temporarily banned from posting on Battlelog means that you have broken the rules of the forum or have not been participating in a constructive fashion. Please review the rules and guidelines as posted above. A short-term ban is our way of preventing further disruptive behavior and asking you to reexamine your behavior.

Being temporarily banned from posting on Battlelog will not prevent you from accessing your game. In extreme cases of misconduct, you will additionally be banned from playing the game.

Please review our Terms of Service
Details of the EA Terms of Service can be found here:
http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/WEBTERMS/US/en/PC/ [tos.ea.com]

While the EA Terms of Service is detailed and specific (and you should read it), as long as you adhere to the guidelines written above you will be fine.

Thanks for taking part in the ever growing Battlefield community. We hope you will enjoy your stay.

I Do NOT work for EA.

I know and have used this SweetFX on single player games.  I do not use it on MP games.

SweetFX does not test for complications with any anti-cheat software as far as I'm aware.

No one from any game company is going to tell you "it's okay" to use.

Technically it's against the EULA/ToS on just about every game.

Anti-Cheat software is suppose to only detect cheats... SUPPOSE TO

Will you get banned?  In my opinion:  No you won't.

Would I risk it?  No, that's why I don't use it.

That's the best honest answer you will get I believe.

If you value your account don't use it... that's my advice... I wish I could say otherwise because this is some pretty good software.

Re: SweetFx+EFX Ban?

I have had a ban for using SweetFX (Battlefield 3 though not BF4, but presumably the same). Punkbuster doesn't like the dxgi.dll. I now have a "Violation (GAMEHACK) #81576" against me and I can't seem to get in any games

I've just moved from console to PC gaming. I did not know this could happen and am trying to dispute it with Evenbalance.

i was going to buy all of the Premium DLC for PC (even though I've already bought it for Xbox 360); now I can't. I don't see how that benefits EA.

I'll know better in future.. so yes.. don't mod your graphics for multiplayer.

J.
