Tablet Commander App Cross Platform Issue

I am trying to figure out why I can't join my friends games as the commander from my tablet. Is there any reason my account (PS3) wont allow me to command my friends on (Xbox ONE/PS4?) Its aggravating me that the only games it lets me actively join are current gen console matches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
