Premium Promo code not working

A friend of mine recently purchased a code from Gamestop that would upgrade my BF4 for PS4 to a premium account. after multiple attempte to redeem the code on both the Playstation store and origin, I've all but given up. Could there be any reason my code isn't working? Keeps telling me it's not a valid code or it has expired.

@Dragoth236 Yep this code expired January 31st. There is no way to use it now.

Not trying to be rude but I didn't even mention what the code was, how could you know it's expired?
