PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed

started happening a few days ago did all the fixes and still getting the boot by punkbuster...

Starting to have this problem too. Tried everything: Update / reinstall, firewall rules, the works.

Am using Windows 7.

The problem is a communication failure. Could it be an internal problem with Windows I wonder, and not related to Punkbuster at all?

Can anyone recall the exact moment the trouble started? Was it right after a "tuesday update" from Microsoft?

It wouldn't be the first time Microsoft released an update that did more harm than good...

This right here fixed it for me. For anyone else having the same issue, check on task manager to see if PnkbstraA or PnkbstraB is running. If either of them is not running, follow their steps which I will copy below in case it got buried:

They are called:

PnkbstraA

In order to enable both do:

1. Press Windows button and R at the same time

2. enter "Services.msc"

3. Locate PnkBstraA on the list

4. Mark both and select "Start the service" on the left side.

4B. If already running restart it
