This question is in regards to Battlefield 4 Premium. I have Win 7 64 bit and a Netgear router.
“Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Check your network connection and make sure th…”
This is the error I get when I try to connect to servers. It happens randomly. Sometimes it happens over and over preventing me from connecting to servers all evening. Often I will repeatedly get this error for only a single server yet I can still join others. I don't know how to replicate the problem. It seems to happen randomly. I have tried enabling and disabling UPNP and flushing my DNS cashe. My brother is on the same network and he gets this problem as well. Sometimes he is able to connect to the servers and I’m not, or visa versa.
Edit: see below. seems to be a problem preventing us both from connecting to the same server. router/ip config related?

When I get that type of error message, I have found turning my router off and back on again will help make it work again. Have you tried that yet?

I've been trying a few things to fix this including disabling the UPNP. I forgot to re-enable it though! I think having UPNP off made the problem WAY worse. I re-enabled it and I can now connect again. I think at this point a work around is simply having UPNP enabled and flushing my DNS every time I get this problem. It seems to work somewhat unreliably. I'll try restarting the router and see if that helps though.

This problem is still happening. Restarting the router did not fix the problem.
It only happens when my brother tries to connect to the same server. He got a message saying that he had the same IP address as another person on our network a while back but it seems to have resolved itself to the point that he has internet access at least. But we still RANDOMLY can’t join servers together. Sometimes we can and we play together for a while. Then the round ends, and bam he (or I) get disconnected and can’t reconnect while the other is playing on the same server. I think something is causing an IP address conflict but I have no idea how this stuff works so I can’t fix it myself and I have no idea how it is related to battlefield considering the fact that we both have perfect internet access. It’s almost like the BF4 servers have an issue with how our router handles our IP addresses? Any tips or ideas?

Found the fix here thanks to Cyanide26K:
Edit: nevermind this didn't fix it.

I'm having the same connection problem, repeatedly.. If you click on the little "i" icon that pops up next to the error in Battlelog, you will get to read the whole error message. Here's what mine is saying:
"Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Check your network connection and make sure that port 3659 (UDP) is open."
I keep getting disconnected during games, sometimes twice per round. I've forwarded all ports on my router. I've repaired game data. I don't know what else to do. This is very frustrating because i can't even finish out a round anymore.
Windows 7 X64
I5 2500K
AMD R9 290 Tri-X
16GB Ram
250gb SSD
Has anyone been able to fix this issue? I'm about to give up.
