Re: having issues playing

[ Edited ]

1) Run DXSETUP.exe from this location to be sure all the required DirectX components are installed: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist

2)

  • Head to the Battlefield 4 installation folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 by default, then find the _Installer folder.
  • In _Installer, navigate into the VC folder, then into vc2012Update3, and finally redist.
  • In redist, find both the x86 and x64 versions of VCredist.exe.
  • Run and install both versions, and your game should now launch without error.

3) Make sure you have all important Windows Updates installed, also .Net Framework and C++ Redistributables

4) Be sure your video drivers and particularly your audio drivers are up-to-date (update motherboard firmware if you are using on-board sound)

Can't launch the game

I just got bf4 on pc last night, downloaded digital copy and installed. After that I tried joining the test range and after the blue bar said "initializing, logging in, loading level" the game went to a white screen and crashed. I tried single player and a multiplayer game and the same happened with both. Today I tried again, and I made it to the loading screens. The loading screen went on for a while, then the bar that goes up and down in the corner disappeared and the game crashed. I don't think my computer is the problem; I have:
Asus laptop with windows 8, 64 bit
Intel i5 processor 2.50 GHz 4 cores
8 GB ram
Nvidia geforce gtx 660m

I've tried downloading new drivers for my graphics card and I've tried uninstalling battlelog and installing it again. My friends say it works fine for them and they didn't have problems when they first tried it. What else can I try?

BF4 Crashes at loading.

I recently upgraded my laptop to Win8, and also Win8.1 got installed.

Now, my game crashes no matter what when I try to start it. It doesn't matter if I try it in compability mode for Win8, Win 7, no compability mode, or anything.

It does NOT matter if I try to start the campaign, as it crashes aswell.

The crash: I can start the loading process just fine. The moment the little window maximises itself to do the fancy loading screen, I crash and get "BF4.exe has stopped responding", complete with a black rectangle on a white screen.

I have so far rebooted (Obviously.), run repair, tried compability modes, tried 32bit version, tried ticking for "Disable Origin in-game", tried with and without Administrator privileges, and so forth, updated punkbuster, reinstalled DirectX... Think that's it.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:
Laptop make and model: Lenovo y500

CPU: Intel i7-3630QM 2.40Ghz

Memory: 8GB

GPU: 2x Nvidia GT 650m (SLI enabled)

OS: Windows 8.1 64bit, all updates installed.

White screen of death BF4

How do you fix white screen of death? Take only 5-10 min before game crash into white screen. Only way to fix is by restarting the computer any advise?

Re: BF4 Crashes at loading.

I got the exact same problem...

It's frustrating that you spent so much money on it and took so long to download and install. Turned out crashes every time at loading screen.

Model: Asus K55vj

CPU: Intel i7 3630QM

GPU: Nvidia GT635M

RAM: 8GB

OS: Windows 8.1

Re: BF4 Crashes at loading.

Same here.

I am also playing (well..... I would like to) on Lenovo Y500 with 2x NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 650M and I only have issues:
1. around 30% of loading times game fails with message "Battlefield 4 has encountered a problem and needs to shut down" while loading level
2. around 50% game fails when game is loaded and deployment map is visible -> "Battlefield 4 has encountered a problem and needs to shut down"
3. around 10% game fails when I get into game/ when round ends/ or when I am just killed randomly -> "Battlefield 4 has encountered a problem and needs to shut down"
4. around 10% is game playable

It is so frustrating to wait every time around 3-5 minutes just to see that game fails to load again.

Issue is replicating on Windows 8; Windows 8.1; different video drivers; tried to execute x86 and x64 executable version - also with compatibility options selected and run as administrator. No help.
